How to play it

  • Count two groups of three in each bar: “all a-round the mul-ber-ry bush” is C C D D, a quarter and an eighth, twice.
  • Bar 2, “mulberry bush”, hops E G E C: open first string, third fret, open, then the first fret of the second string.
  • The “pop” in bar 7 is the A at the fifth fret of the first string, held for a dotted quarter, then D and F fall away from it.

About the song

An English tune from the 1850s, first a dance and then a nonsense song. Nobody knows for sure what the weasel was.
